Girl Scout cookies – so hot right now. They’re being adapted into cupcake flavors, they were a key plot point in last week’s episode of The Office, and now the folks of Napa Valley are doing their best to elevate the humble treat with…wine pairings?
According to Hotel Chatter, tony Wine Country resort Auberge du Soleil‘s wine director Kris Margerum is offering oenophiles suggested vino pairings for the organization’s most popular cookies – namely, Trefoils, Savannah Smiles, Do-Si-Dos, Samoas and Tagalongs. To which we say: no Thin Mints…really? The verdict? He recommends pairing Trefoils with a 2007 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine, Savannah Smiles with a 2010 Dr. Loosen Riesling-Kabinett, Samoas with a Graham’s 20-Year tawny port and Tagalongs with Rare Wine Company’s “Imperial Old Reserve” Malmsey Madeira.
What do you think? Do you like the idea of a little tipple with your treat, or will a glass of milk suffice?
